Episode 9: Found

Monday, June 11, 2007

We had it since we were born.

It's been with our heritage for generations. It runs with the blood in our veins.

Yet nowadays, due to dirty politics, corruption, poverty and life's daily stresses, we often forget who we are.

Being a Filipino. Embrace it. Be proud of it.

so naamaze na naman ako. everytime i watch your vids, you always give us something new. but there is one thing that is always present on your vids. you always try to show up how a Filipino value something. May it be family, place, org, and this time an event for every Filipino. Happy Independence day. XD

By Blogger aaronjames, at June 11, 2007 at 9:37 AM

aaargh. you made me cry with this, kahit na walang dialogue. you better become a filmmaker, man. anything else would be beneath you. :)

By Blogger gibbs cadiz, at June 11, 2007 at 9:48 AM

waw that was good...
artsy nga...

By Blogger Jepoy, at June 11, 2007 at 11:27 AM

Another great video, bro. Lumang-luma talaga ang song selected for the ending part of the clip... Pang-traditional Noypi! Haha. Hanep talaga. Ang gaganda ng mga vlog posts mo! :D

Happy Independence Day, by the way. :)

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 11, 2007 at 3:58 PM

Ang gulo na ng bahay nyo niyan! Hehe. Familiar ang winding stairs. =P

You just took vlogging to the next level ha. I'm keeping up with you. Nice build-up, great climax. Parang sex eh no?

By Blogger Faith, at June 11, 2007 at 5:44 PM

sa wakas, google video ang post mo!

Nakakaiyak naman. Kami walang Philippine Flag sa bahay. huhu...

Happy Independence Day!

By Blogger renzyd, at June 11, 2007 at 6:26 PM

akala ko boxer shorts ang hinahanap at iwawagayway mo pa sa bubong niyo!

but anyway, good short movie.

Happy Independence Day!

I just hope we are truly free.

By Blogger Billycoy, at June 11, 2007 at 7:00 PM

Ganda! buti na lang at maraming nagmamahal sa Pilipinas :p

By Blogger towr, at June 11, 2007 at 7:02 PM

nice one. kaka-touch. :)

By Blogger Adrian, at June 11, 2007 at 10:00 PM

good one. deep pero hindi overwhelming. it allows your viewers to have their own interpretation.

interpretation ko? kailangan ng pinturahan ng bubong :) jowk.

astig

By Blogger p, at June 12, 2007 at 12:04 AM

waw that was great coy! simple yet deep!

sana madami humalintulad sayong pinoy coy!

happy independence day!

By Blogger Jed, at June 12, 2007 at 3:36 AM

bat mo naman binilad sa bubong ang bandila, pwede mo naaman isampay sa sampayan.... hihi

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 12, 2007 at 6:46 AM

pak! mali pa ang nailagay kong pangalan!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 12, 2007 at 6:47 AM

wow. syempre tulad ng iba.. amazed din. i love the simple yet unique concept of your video!

happy independence. :)

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 12, 2007 at 7:01 AM

if that's your room, two thumbs up. parehas pala tayong magulo ang kwarto [don't tell me GINULO mo lang yung kwarto mo for the film!?!?! mapapahiya ako nito for assuming.. ahhaa]

anyway.

it's a short film itself. i don't think people really need a certain span of time to dig and interpret this movie.

right now, we just need to find our identity among things that hinder us from forgetting our love for our country.

kadalasan kasi sa mga pinoy nowadays (i admit that i'm one of them, hahah!), kulang sa halukay at halungkat ang pagkatao. we don't see the "filipino" spirit inside ourselves.

^_^ kung apat lang kamay ko, i'd make this video a four-thumbs up.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 12, 2007 at 7:30 AM

before i forget, natawa ako sa font ng sentences nung ending. parang.. pang-gate. =))

wala lang.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 12, 2007 at 7:31 AM

Happy Independence day to you too.

My family used to hang a flag just as big as yours, but when we moved, I don't know what happened to it. No one bothered to look for it since most of the adults then were to busy with life. Maybe, just like what you did, I should find our flag.

By Blogger Jigs, at June 12, 2007 at 8:37 AM

Thank you for all the response! It was the morning of June 11 when I stumbled upon the concept. And I knew I just had to do it. I shot this in 20 mins. Nagmamadali kasi at may lakad pa. Hehe.

@aaron

Thank you Aaron. I try to experiment on things so I can offer something new in the vids.

I'm joyful that you saw value on things I show here.

Thanks again. :D

By Blogger CokskiBlue, at June 12, 2007 at 4:53 PM

@gibbs

Wow. Thanks Gibbs.

Ang daming issues na pinagkakaguluhan dito sa Pilipinas, which are usually senseless and insignificant. The real essence of being Filipino is not there anymore. Or maybe it's just in a deep slumber and needs a wake-up call.

@kiro

Haha! I was hoping someone would notice that small piece of humor I put in there. You spotted it Ron! Hehe.

@jepoy

Thanks! Keep watching. :D

By Blogger CokskiBlue, at June 12, 2007 at 5:04 PM

hey coy. may free electives ba kayo? why don't you take some in mass comm. you might enjoy production classes

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 12, 2007 at 5:46 PM

APPLAUSE!!! ASTIG!!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 12, 2007 at 7:22 PM

what's the relevance of putting the flag sa bubong? aber? until now, my right eyebrow is still raised. ano ba yun? i dig the concept of "looking for it" but tell me why not wagayway the watawat? why allow the flag to be desecrated? it should be on a pole, that's why it's called flagpole. what the heck?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 12, 2007 at 9:05 PM

...pinoys and that thing called "pseudo-independence."

yon lang. babuh!
wink.
wink.

By Blogger Bakla Sa Banga, at June 12, 2007 at 11:31 PM

cool. pero bakit nakalapag sa bubong?

anyway, i dig your room too. Messy! at nakita ko ang tanke ng gardenia, haha. ayos!

By Blogger sephthedreamer, at June 12, 2007 at 11:49 PM

By Blogger CokskiBlue, at June 13, 2007 at 9:43 PM

pero sa totoo lang, nakakaiyak ito. depressing. depressing na hindi mo maintindihan eksakto kung ano nga ba yong stinging feeling sa loob mo. alam mo yong....kurot?

By Blogger Bakla Sa Banga, at June 14, 2007 at 5:03 AM

It's coy's blog and he can decide which comments to delete and which comments to approve.

That being said, I'm not a big fan of the movie. :p

By Blogger lateralus, at June 14, 2007 at 7:40 AM

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 14, 2007 at 1:49 PM

@paolo

At oo. Kailangan na ng pintura! Haha! And kelangan nang linisin at naging outside bodega na sya. LOL.

@jed and cars

@heneroso

By Blogger CokskiBlue, at June 14, 2007 at 2:09 PM

@kevin

uh yes. that's my room. hehe. and talagang magulo na siya. pareho nga tayo. but no, i dont throw my boxers around like that. haha. that was "acting". :D

spot on on the interpretation moses! exactly the thought I started with.

you get a 6 thumbs up from me. (paramihan ng thumb? haha!)

@jigs

Exactly. We should find our flag.

It's just sad that most of us only become "Filipinos" during national holidays. And oh, don't get me started with those politicians.

By Blogger CokskiBlue, at June 14, 2007 at 2:17 PM

Just want to make it clear guys that I did not remove any comments. It's all in there. Just look for it.

I'm trying to respond to each comment. Maybe I'll finish up later this day before the meet-up. Kailanagn ko munang pumasok. Hehe.

TGIF! :D

By Blogger CokskiBlue, at June 14, 2007 at 2:19 PM

may nangaaway!insecure lang siguro sa talent mo coy.hehe.

iba ibang interpretation lang yan, mga tsong.You might get it, not get it, or have an entirely different interpretation. There's nothing wrong to speak out, just don't be rude.

Hemingways, wala na akong ibang masabi.hihi. :)

By Blogger renzyd, at June 14, 2007 at 5:35 PM

@bikoy

Hi Bikoy, welcome to the site!

We do have free electives but I'm not sure if I've exhausted them all. I'm interested though to take-up masscom courses next sem just for the heck of it. Bahala na kung sumobra ako sa units. Hehe.

Thanks for dropping by. See you around!

@louis

pareng louis, salamat! :D

@bakla sa banga

So true. But that shouldn't stop us from being Filipino and doing good deeds for our country. Guilty rin ako sa pagkalimot.

By Blogger CokskiBlue, at June 14, 2007 at 9:55 PM

By Blogger sephthedreamer, at June 15, 2007 at 2:49 AM

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 16, 2007 at 3:58 AM

OMG! Tama ba na nakita ko ang boxers mo?! Haha! Joke.

That was pretty good ah. Ang galing ng concept mo, action speaks louder than words. Nasiyahan ako sa mga curses mo dahil hindi mo mahanap yung flag, natural na natural. Hehe!

Yun nga lang, bakit nakalatag? :P

By Blogger Jhed, at June 16, 2007 at 4:00 AM

Aysus ginoo. Nabatukan mo ako sa videong iyon. We're forgetting about it... and that was like, uhh...

But you know what? I really forgot about the independence day because of the mere fact that it is really NOT our independence day. Aguinaldo's a big dungmount screw up. The hell with him. Hahahaha.

AStig na short yun ah.

By Blogger totomai, at June 18, 2007 at 7:25 AM

By Blogger CokskiBlue, at June 19, 2007 at 12:02 AM

@Neil

Glad you got something out of the short, Neil. Madali na ngang makalimutan ang ganitong mga occasions. Lalo na pag linilipat pa yung holiday. :P booooo.

@Nash

Wow. Good that I inspired you Nash. Madali lang naman i-reignite ang pagka-Pilipino natin e. It's just in the small deeds we do everyday.

Kay Jet (my bro) ko sana ipapahawak yung cam e. Nahiya lang ako. Haha! Di pa ako Happy Slip level. hehe.

By Blogger CokskiBlue, at June 19, 2007 at 12:09 AM

EVERYONE:

Now to answer what everybody's asking:

I did not mean to offend anyone or be disrespectful to our flag. I did the short film with the simple objective of celebrating our identity as Filipinos.

Spreading the flag that way, facing the sky, for me, is showing the world what we are and shouting to the heavens what were made of.

I'm sorry if I'm uninformed of the laws regarding our national symbol. Now I'm aware of it. And I hope viewers will just see the heart of the film and what message it's trying to send out.

@pilosopo tasya

thanks for your insights. not a fan of the way you present them though.

@benj

thanks for the heads up after i uploaded the vid. ikaw talaga ang una laging nakakadiskubre ng mga mali sa entries ko. kaya ikaw ang dakila kong adviser. hehe.

And oh, I don't delete comments but my own. Maybe kung spammer ka or of national security na, pwede pa. But negative comments? I welcome them.

That's all everyone. Thanks for making this the first post to breach the 50th comment mark. Hehe.

Cheers!
